"It's Valdis. She's already wary of me because I'm an oni. She made that clear. I could sense the tension as soon as I walked into the room. I had tried to explain that I wasn't a bad person like people assume because I'm an oni. And I screwed that up. I knew she wasn't human also, but never demanded to know what she was. I don't care." "She's one hell of a fighter. The first person I've fought agianst in a long time that wasn't human. I think no matter what I'm doing there's always going to be a strike against me because of who I am. Even though it's clear she's trying not to hold on to that fact."
