Hey, Klaus let me in. I got stuff for you.

[Klaus is lying in respective unhotness (read: it's warm, but not so warm that he will die immediately of inconvenience) when he hears the knock. They blink, peering at the door from their tiny little couch before getting up. The mushroom house is still cute, even if it is a little small, but they make their way towards the door and opens it, a confused but somewhat excited expression on their face.]

You got stuff for me?

Yeah. I got stuff. I think these will help you till this stupid heat wave calms down. They're lighter clothes, sandles, and a hat.

[Shiranui handed the basket over toward Klaus. The hat was a bamboo hat that Shiranui had taken the time to make.]

[On the 24th Klaus will find a box with his name on it along with a holiday card that reads,]

[Inside are a small bag of chocolates and a personalized chess board!

Klaus's chocolates are shaped like reindeer. They are mildly spicy with hints of cinnamon and coffee. Cinnamon is comforting taste for Arrakis and coffee because neither of them are perfect and that's ok! Sometimes a bit of bitterness isn't so bad.

Klaus's chess board is a bit chaotic at first glance but trust me there is a method to Arrakis's madness. His has a wooden board with light and dark wood squares. The black squares are weathered and they are made to look cracked and broken. All of the black squares together form a very faint design of a 4. Arrakis can't beat up Klaus's father since he's not here so he will destroy the terrible name he gave Klaus instead. The white squares form Klaus's name in beautiful carved lettering, like you would find in medieval books. His name has been subtly painted in gold and silver so it shines when it catches the light, just like the way Klaus shines even if he doesn't notice it. His pieces match the wood from his board. Carved on the bottom of one of the black knights are Arrakis's initials, AF.]

[ Klaus will find outside of his own door, a purple box wrapped with silver ribbon. Amid tissue paper there is a very gaudy hawaiian style shirt with a rose print-- and it's casual enough that Klaus can look as dissolute as he pleases. Christmas Delivery

[Delivered quite kindly by the mail mice to Klaus's home is a bag of homemade potpourri and a little handmade Christmas Pixie. Last but not least, there are some Christmas cookies (some are a little misshapen but it's clear they were made with care).

Attached is a card inside is delicate handwriting:]

Labyrinth Christmas Gift

[Sitting outside Klaus' door is a carved wooden owl with a note taped to him.]

Gift Delivery

[Delivered to Klaus's door by a giant owl is a box. Should he open it there it is filled with goodies to help survive the winter. There are two candles, one made of beeswax, bright and yellow, another is scented with cinnamon, orange, and pine. Next to the honey wand is a whole jar of honey that came from Aurora's bees, much like the beeswax honey. But it's not just honey and nuts, there is a sweet treat as well. Raspberry tarts are wrapped up safely to ensure they do not crumble.

In addition to the rest of the box are the same tinctures and teas she gave him before for his aches and pains during withdrawals.

In the box is a letter with elegant handwriting:]

[Somebody was promised hot chocolate. This mailpiece isn't exactly hot chocolate, but it sure contains a lot of fixings. Marshmallows, peppermint sticks, chocolate dipped wooden spoons, gingerbread cookies, sea lakesalt... The only thing missing is the milk. And, oh, look at that, there's a receipt from the market, good for a prepaid container of fresh milk.]

I know this probably isn't what you meant, but I hope you like it anyway. Feel free to cash in at any time in person and I'll foot the bill.
Seriously, please let me know. I want to make it up to you for real.

Not Here / Depending / Valentines Day (post) surprise

Since Klaus hasn't been home, cleaning it and setting up a typical Nobunaga surprise is pretty easy. There's less to clean than he expected, mostly thanks to Mitsuhide, as weird as that is for him, but that's just as well because it gives him a ton of time to set up step 2.

Purple decorations everywhere. Curtains, blankets, a kotatsu, heart pillows -- typical Nobuanga he went overboard.

Step 3: all the surfaces that had been previously christened have little haiku notes.

"Love you, miss you loads
Come back and rest against me
Alone I am board."

Get it? BOARD. Yes.

Nobunaga also had a disastrous attempt at making purple konpeito candy, they take weeks to make properly, but luckily you'd really have to be paying attention to figure out the disaster, he's pretty good at covering his tracks. Garlic bread feels mandatory, but it's not something he can just leave for whenever Klaus will find it, so there's a cardboard cut out of "exchange for" placards instead.

Out of nowhere Godzilla plushie is eating a heart. As one does.

Once Klaus finally gets back, they carefully slip in, not sure if anyone's around, but the view of the house clean and as he goes, the little notes and cardboard exchange pieces. They smile a little, letting out a sigh and a shake of the head as they read all the haikus.

He settles into one of the chairs at the table in the kitchen. They consider texting for a long moment before letting time lapse. But after a minute, there's a quick,

you cleaned the house and then left paper all over the place, huh?

Just a little light teasing.

Sometime around the 13th-ish. Package and letter

[Sometime around the 13th ish, Klaus will find a wrapped package and a letter sealed with green wax for him. Opening the letter reads as follows:]

I'm given to understand that one gives friends gifts around this time. I am not usually one for sentiment, but I have been growing and changing while here. So, I wanted to express to you my appreciation for our friendship. I hope it will keep you warm.
